What medical job should take?

How do you decide what job to take?

• I'm having a hard time deciding which job to take! Family and friends said if they were in my position they wouldn't know what to do either. I made a pro and con list and basically it comes down to a few things. The first job is my dream job its working at an animal hospital and doing training on the side. The second is a job that I have no interest in doing basically a glorified telemarketer. I didn't expect the hospital to offer as much as they did, its $3/hr less BUT that doesn't count what I would make training on the side. They also said if I prove myself, that they are firm believers on paying people for what they contribute to the work enviroment and have no problem with adjusting the salary after I prove that I am a good worker. The second job has a somewhat better benefit package BUT its costs more too, they also offer 401k and the other doesn't. I could see myself struggling to come to work everyday at the second position and worried about moving forward in the company-I've been in companies like this one before and the experience wasn't pleasant. Also have a bad taste because the second job pushed back my start date till the begining of April. I've been to a few interviews at different vets and hospitals-I've never had that gut feeling at any of those feelings. I felt like it was the right place to be. It was nice to hear from my references and previous jobs about how much they love me and thought I would be such a great addition to their office. Where the second job could probably care less about me since they have over 3000 employees. I'm trying to be rational about this decision but its proving diffcult to do!

  It sounds like you have already made up your mind to take the 1st job in the animal hospital. If it will provide you with enough income to support your self then go for it. Do not expect promotional opportunities as the staffing will be limited.
