Animation as a career?

Pursuing a career in Animation?

  • Hi, I am a current Junior in High school in Ohio. I am also enrolled in a Digital Design Course at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center. I am continuously searching for something to point me in the right direction career wise. For the past months I have been set on 3D Character Design and Animation for Video Games. But a few days ago I realized that what I would love to do as a career is Animation not in Video Games but in the Movies. Finally I was wondering if you could answer these questions for me. 1. What type of programs do professional Animators use that I can familiarize myself with to become an expert animator? 2. Do you know of any Colleges near me that you could suggest that I could enroll in to become a part of a well known Animation team. EX: Pixar, Dreamworks etc. 3. What College courses would you suggest I should take to develop my animating skills? 4. If there is anyone that i can contact in order to help with my questions about animation and film industry? Thank You. Any information is greatly appreciated.
