Everyone seems to be going to University, but meanwhile I'm unemployed with no idea of a future...Any advice?
-
I just don't know what I want to do with my life at all. I am 23 years old and I am unemployed with no direction in life. I am depressed and not sure what to do. l want a job, but I also want a stable career, which if I'm to listen to the many people out there, I won't get without a University degree. I have all this pressure to move out, find a stable job, get a degree etc, but I don't know what to do. I don't feel I should go to University, as I can't handle another 3/4 years of studying! I didn't mind studying before, but it's too much stress on me. I suffer from panic attacks and anxiety as it is, so going to University and trying to study for a degree isn't going to help, especially if University is not for me.

Answer:
Step one: Go to a doctor Step two: Deal with your depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. That's what those doctors are there for. Step three: Life doesn't come easy, and it seems like you don't want to work to obtain a goal. At this point, if you don't get your act together and realize that you have to study, then you won't be going anywhere. Step four: You need to figure out what your interests are. Do you like cooking? Try culinary school. Like writing? Try writing freelance. Step five: Weigh your options. Community college for two years and then a university? Just community college?

hello have you considered talking to someone before your depression and anxiety gets worse. if not please do. you may also want to consider taking more classes online.perhaps that way you could basically do most of it in your free time . As far as jobs maybe you could do volunteer work in the field that interests you the most and possibly if something becomes available let them know you're interested. that way you may be able to at least get your foot in the door with what you enjoy doing. maybe you want to sit down and talk to just maybe like 3 people of the field you're interested in and have a honest talk with yourself about the your interested field. i don't know what your spiritual beliefs are but perhaps if you believe in prayer and God you may also want to consider that. please take the time to find what it is YOU want to do and how YOU not anyone else feels about it. after all in the long run You need to be happy with Your choice. good luck i hope i've helped you some.
