How to find a most appropriate job for a fresher?

How long did it take you to find a job?

  • Im looking for a job, I only have one other job experience which was housekeeping and because of it it makes it harder to find other jobs (such as retail or food service) I did apply for many other housekeeping jobs but havent gotten a job yet. Im currently a undergraduate student struggly to find a part-time job. I know im not alone in this boat either. Im sure 20 years ago it was easier to find a job when you where around your late teens and early 20s. How long did it take for you to find a job in these hostel time with the economy?

  • Answer:

Too long I would say. 2009 college grad and still unemployed. My problem is that I am overqualified for supposedly non-degree positions because I'm supposedly "just too sophisticated" and would leave if an opportunity arises and under-qualified for degree positions because I don't have the years under my belt. Apparently getting out of college at such time like this is not a good idea because one seem to just set oneself for unemployable. lol. Now I'm sitting on a pile of student loan, holding a worthless piece of paper everyone call a degree.

I got my first job in 2nd year university at the university library as a Circulations Desk Student Assistant. It was a job through school so some work and study program at school. Try to find some work study program in your university. I was lucky how I got the job at the library. I got hired during the 2 minute interview.
