Bouncer? Or Mechanic JOB?
-
Basically im at a dilemma... Im just about to leave school... So the big question... What to do... My dad owns a company that runs security all over croydon as bouncers or just security at malls and stuff (As its england it should be called high streets/Shopping center's... not malls) but i love cars... everything about them i love, i am a rubbish learner i don't think they would have the patience with me for an apprenticeshipp but like i said i love cars... But then again... Im 17 Stone and im 6 ft tall.... But then again all comes down to Pros and Cons... If i was gonna be a bouncer it would cost me to get the SIA license but i have got the build and ... well im gonna be honest ive only ever lost a fight, and thats to my dad so it doesnt count -.- And mechanic i know nothing about the engines just about the actual cars themselves :/ but i could get straight into mechanics at 16 but i would have to be 18 or older for SIA license ;/ I have looked into all of this... Just cant come to a decision can any one help at all?? :/

Answer:
I would recommend that you go with the mechanic job. I understand that you can work for your father, but being a bouncer is not the greatest life. I know, I've been one. You are dealing with all sorts of crazy people. You sound like a fairly big boy, but that also makes you a big target. As a mechanic you can have good work and good pay and not have to worry about watching your back in a hostile situation. The only injury you have to worry about is whatever may happen at work. You say that you are a slow learner. Most mechanics I know can say the same. But you will learn by hands on experience. The kind that won't knife you in the back or put a bullet in your chest. It's your decision and you have allowed me say my piece. It's now your choice. Just remember that you are planning for the rest of your life. Make it count.

A mechanic's training will provide a much more reliable and profitable lifestyle (over the long run) than the lifestyle of a bouncer. Not saying you can't do both, either. Mechanic's training is a commitment but it's something you could do at 18, 20, or 25 if you chose.
