I'm filling out a job application and it's asking me to put my references, what does this mean?

i'm filling out a job application for old navy and i'm 16 and have never had a real job before so i'm a little confused. it's asking me to put down references, but i'm not really sure who to put. do i put family members, sport's coaches, teachers? it says business references preferred, but i haven't worked anywhere before. what do i do? thank you.

You should put your teachers and/or coaches. Family member are the last options...

Ask your pastor,coach,teachers and anyone who is willing to vouch for you for a reference. May even be people you have worked for cutting grass or any jobs you have done in the past.
