How to explain my misdemeanor on a job application?

I got fired from my job. How do I explain this on an application? Help please!?

• Yesterday I went to work to pick up my schedule and I wasn't on it.. I worked at a gas station I called the manager and she said she had to let me go 'cause I was still slow paced.. and I called in sick late.. it was an hour before I went to work I had a fever and a sore throat.. that was my second time ever calling in and i've only been there three months. I don't understand how I got fired for this I worked my butt off, and I thought I was doing a really good. How do I explain this on a job application?.. Will it affect me getting a job in the future?

  It could. But it didn't with me. I just put that I was let go because there were too many people and they let go a bunch. Yes, it's lying but most of the time, they never call your past employers. Good luck.
