What kind of job should I get?

What kind of job could i get, that i wouldn't have to leave the house, doesn't require a lot of work, pays ok?

  • My whole life i've hated working. But who doesn't? But i absolutely hate it. I hate it with a passion, i hate driving somewhere where i don't want to be, wasting my life per hour. I hate working more than most ppl think they hate working. Is there something i can do at home, maybe online or something, that only would require a few hours a day, and pay alright? I worked at tacobell for two years, quit, worked at menards, got fired for being late one day...now i work for my aunt at her law firm. I'm 18 and going to school for Movies/Film btw, but i won't be able to get a job in that field for a while....Anyways, i hate workin for my aunt.. i cannot stand her. she is bipolar and ADD and tonds of other **** and she's really cruel to me. i want to quit so bad, and as a college student, it costs me a lot of money to drive to her building, and i barely have money for gas cuz i have to keep buying books for my classes. Please, what kind of stay-at-home job could an 18-year old do that would pay decent and not require that many hours? i'm always busy with homework too, and sometimes have to call in at my aunt's. Please! I am begging you! i hate workin for her! what kind of stay-home job could i do!?

    Is this what our glorious public school system has produced? Really, Please do think about this if you had money like Billy Gates, Would You pay somebody for staying home and fiddling with their computer and expending minimal effort? This whole scene is BAD CAPITALISM! First of all, if anyone does offer you a "job" on-line, do NOT pay them anything up-front, and also do make sure you know who you are dealing with before you give out any PERSONAL INFORMATION about yourself. There is NO free lunch! .

OK I am not going to be negative about what you said because I feel the same way about the whole corporate 8-5 deal. I can't stand it. I loathe it. I too felt like I wasting my life away all day. I mean spending more time at work then at home? Not for me!!!! That is why I made it a point to really find something true that I could do from the comfort of my own home, set my own hours, and something that I actually enjoy. There are so many scams out there right now that want all your money so it is easy to be skeptical about these things. I totally understand....but if you want to really know something that is true, honest, requires no investment, please contact me ok? I am a 27 year old housewife who has finally found something that makes me happy. Thanks for listening :) Julia

"Your whole life you have hated working?". Such drama. You are 18. How much have you actually worked? You had the misfortune of working a couple of lousy jobs (Taco Bell, no offense to them, is not the premier employer out there). Don't make that your whole opinion of working life. You are in the stage of life where you are paying your dues. Take the jobs you do have and do them to the best of your ability, without complaining, and you will be given greater opportunities, and more interesting things to do. If you don't like working for your aunt, take what you have learned working for her, and apply for a job at another law firm closer to where you live. And, find out what kind of job would actually make you happy to go to work. The film industry is deeply competitive, so think of areas outside that world that might bring you enjoyment. A great book for thinking about this is "What color is your parachute?". There is no free lunch, unfortunately, and unless you have the computer skills of a genius, no one who will hire an 18 year old to goof around with the internet a couple of hours a day. And, by the way, don't put critical comments about your aunt or any employer online (such as facebook or myspace). Potential employers will check out those sites and turn you down for jobs if they don't like what they see.
