How to write a resume with no job experience?
-
I have to make a resume but I have no prior job experience. how could I build a resume? also, i used to help out at my friends store; helping him with the cash register and cleaning up stuff,. how could I work that in? another thing: if I'm trying out for a retail job (like a clothing store) what can I put as my objective if I want to be a cashier or a person who folds and arranges the clothing

Answer:
You write a single page with the following headings Objective - one sentence describing what type of work you want perhaps say what your ultimate goal is Eg. An entry level position in retail clothing store Education: name of your highest level of education institution (University or High school or college) dates you were there....graduate with honours? Special interesting courses? Achievements think of 3-5 things that you have done that you are proud of. Eg. - elected as class president at ABC school and served as treasurer on the student council - volunteered as a runner in the "Run for Life" campaign collecting $1000 in pledges for the ABC charity on DATE That kind of thing Hobbies and Interests..... coin collecting, whatever...just a list Requests: Available upon request.....that is all say no more. Center in a page....name address, phone/cell number and email Do not write in the first person...write in the third person. You should do fine.... in a covering letter if you use one...you write in the first person , identfying the position you are applying for and where you found it....next Paragraph....why you think you want to work for this company...final paragraph...than them for the opportunity to apply for the job...tell them you look forward to an interview and if they need more info you can be reached at...give phone no. and email. there you go....Good luck

A position suitable to my skills and offering opportunity to learn. You write a skills based resume For example: I am reliable and hard working, Understand and have practices clothing display in a friend' clothing store and know how to use a cash register. I get along well with others and work well under pressure. Enjoy interaction with other people and have a reputation for being both empathetic and helpful. I aways wear a smile and like making people happy.
