NEED ADVICE ABOUT NURSING?

Need career advice. I hold an USA, 2 year nursing degree which appears to be useless in the U. What to do?

• I hold a 2 year (RN) nursing degree which seems to be useless in the UK. I have decided to give up on nursing altogether. I also worked in the library for 15 years as a Periodicals assistant which is specific to the library workforce. I don't for-see any library jobs coming up in the near future. It seems my skill sets are too specific for any job out there. What to do? I considered working in a preschool since I have a 2 year old daughter but it seems you need a 2 year qualification, right? Hubby is always moving for work which doesn't give me two years to dedicate to coursework. I also considered Medical Secretary but the nearest school is too far away. We don't have much money to pay for an education and full-time daycare for my 2 year old. I would love any advice or suggestions.

  Your Nursing Degree is of great value here in the UK. I would suggest that there is a possibility that it is your Job Application procedure that could be going against you or maybe you have presented a Resume and not a CV. I am not sure if you are an American Citizen but in the UK Job Applications are completely different from the USA, You are also talking about Library Jobs, Pre-School work and training as a Medical Secretary. You really need to focus on one job (the Nursing one) and decide which area you want to specialise. You say that you do not have much money but try not to worry about this.
