I need school / career advice?
-
I am 28 years old. I have been going to school on and off since 2002. I have had to work to support my family so at times I've been part time and other times I've taken breaks to have a child and move out of state. I currently have 2 years left full time or 4 years left part time to get my bachelors in business administration. (not sure it matters but I live in Madison Wisconsin). I am currently a collection supervisor for a small collection agency. I make about 30K a year. I was promoted to supervisor 8 months ago but it was basically a pay-cut as I only get a manager bonus of $250 when we hit our company goal which has happened 2 times since I started. And I miss time on the phone doing managerial duties that if on the phone I could be making commission. I was supposed to have a review in January but it's been pushed off and delayed for no apparent reason. My husband, 2 year old, and I live currently with my in-laws as we moved out of state then back home and needed a place to stabilize. We have been thinking about buying a house and have saved up a small down payment (we paid off our credit cards before we started saving). I was recently considering instead quitting my job, staying longer with my in laws as we have cheap rent, and going to school full time instead of part time. My husband sells cars which is only commission but he's been making at a minimum about 1200 and sometimes around 5000 a month. We only pay 300 for rent and have some small credit card bills. I have been going to school part time and working full time. I also need time to spend with my 2 year old. I also have carpal tunnel and working and doing school at the same time has become too hard physically. So I dropped out of school a month a go. What should I do. I have a choice to keep working here and see if I get anywhere. The company has only 12 employees including the owner and they claim to not have much money and have a hard time paying bonuses although since I was promoted profits are 54K over last year and we have already had the best Jan and Feb since they opened. Or quitting here losing remaining managerial experience and going to school full time. I am not getting any younger. Advice?

Answer:
Don't go back to school unless you know what you can do, and where you can do it, with the new degree.

You Have to Think What you are going to do different with a bachelors in Business Administration are you going use it or just want to hang a Certificate on your wall self pride which is admirable , but in the other hand you have a kid and a Husband a Family do What Makes you and Your Family Happy , Your Are Basically Doing What you Could with the Bachelors Supervisor/Managerial Position For a Company, as you can See Unless you Own the Company The Only Thing you get as a Manager or Supervisor is More Stress More Responsibilities and Mediocre Raise if you can call it That, Take it From Me, You Don't Need No Paper to Tell your Worth , Do What You Love, Listen to Your Heart. Good Luck..
