Do you get paid for training hours in a new job?

How many hours of work do you think I will get?

  • I recently just got hired as a ride supervisor for a rental company. Its where they rent out their equipment and I have to go to the location and supervise it. Well, To start off the pay is great for my age (19), its 12$/hr. And 15$ an hour in the event is 45min or further away. But I was worried about the hours I will get. Right now they have me scedualed for training tommorrow which isnt paid. And a 6 hour event on saturday. Has anyone else worked for a company that runs like this? Where they scedual you for events. Im only worried because I might not get as much hours as a regular job. Anyone have any experience with this?

I know this isn't answering your question, but I don't see how it is legal to train you without pay. Make sure you know your rights.
