Why do companies drill you like hell on entry level jobs?

  • Had a entry level job interview today. They were drilling me about experience and have I done this and that. Dam it! This is entry level! How can you expect people to have so much experience when it's just an entry level job?

    Because they have 50 applicants for each job. Consider going back to school to earn a degree that does not have so much competition - like engineering /

Because hiring a new employee costs the company thousands in paperwork and training. They hire some one who lasts 1 week and now needs to be replaced. So another few thousands again. 20 applicants for every job opening and yes they can be choosy

Experience counts, even in entry level jobs.

i know and its the crappy jobs that are the most stuckup or pretentious, making you go through all that crap, and sometimes the company will totally suck.
