Ideas for a Career Change?

Career change and new jobs ideas with lack of experience?

  • I have a good music office manager position in a university but the pay is ridiculously low. I've been there about 9 years and the salary has barely increased. There's union vs. university problems too so we haven't gotten cost of living raises in 3 years. I want out. What careers can I do? I apply for a lot of things but get no responses.. probably because I don't have an expertise in any field and they probably see "music" and throw out my resume. Here's some things I might be interested in: hotels, animals, real estate type stuff, warehouse, etc. Since I don't have skills in these or other areas I don't seem to find anything other than $10/hr when I need about $45,000/yr at least. Any ideas for me?

    Well I don't think there is any money in the Hotel industry unless you are the manager. If you want to work your way up in the hospitality industry you will have to study. For real estate industry you also have to study. Animals I know nothing much all the money is in race horses. My advice is to study.

Office Manager alone should be something! Do you have a college degree or any kind of college education? The best thing is to go to the local unemployment office and check the sunday paper. Most of the things you mentioned requires some type of education. Jobs are hard to come by these days, keep looking!
