Need help with CV career objective ?

  • It's my first time writing a CV and I know it sounds dumb but I don't know how it's supposed to look like. I know I have to have a career objective. I am applying for a job at an international school as a junior school assistant teacher and I have always been in the education industry. I need help on suggestions on how to write the career objective?? It's not a teaching position. Also, do I have to put my photo in my CV? Is that like a mandatory thing for a CV? I've asked my friends and some say yes and some don't. Will I get rejected just because I don't? Thanks for all the help!

  • Answer:

First, never include a photo unless it is asked for. Many applicants have been discriminated against because of a photo where you might not look like their impression of the ideal candidate. Your career objective should indicate what you can do for them, not what you want. Sometimes a personal statement instead of a career objective is a good idea because you can highlight your passion and strengths. eg: highly motivated and passionate about working in the school system where I can support and assist teachers to attain the best outcomes for students. hope this helps.
