How do I get my first summer job?

• I really want to get a summer job and it is my first time getting one. How do I get a job, I am 15? When should I apply for a job, my school ends in the end of june? Any tips? I am very desperate for a job, all my friends have a job and I don't want to be the only one without a job, especially since I am not going anywhere for vacation this summer. I also don't want to sit at home and watch t.v. all day. So please help me. Any tips will help, it is my first time!!!

  Boy, that may be a tough one because of the economy. I don't know where you live, here in Oklahoma, where the economy is not near as bad as say Michigan, but I've heard that teens and out of work adults are applying for some of the same types of jobs. I guess the adults don't have any other job prospects. When I was looking for a retail type job I would just break out the phone book and go down through all the businesses and call them. That 's how I found all my jobs in the past but that was before this horrible economy. Good Luck!
