What are some good jobs that u can fill out an online application?

Glaring difference between resume and application?

  • With more and more companies only accepting online resume submission and/or applications online I have a major question: What happens when there are glaring differences between the resume and application? For Example: You can fill out application and attach resume. Application says to "account for all activity for the past 7 years" On the application you list all your jobs including short term and seasonal On the resume you only list 2 jobs because they pertain to the position you are applying for Will the difference cause your application/resume to end up being deleted?

  • Answer:

It would depend on how the company sees the difference. Resumes are not a list of your jobs. They are designed to be a short story about why you are relevant to a position. Whereas an application is the list of companies and jobs you have. If the company you are applying to compares these two things and expects them to be the same, then it's a problem. If they recognize the resume as your "sell sheet", it's not.

I would tailor my resume to the job at hand; that way, you don't have any issues. Unless there are blatant lies (school you never went to, job you never had), you should be fine.
