I want to work in a medical career? which is highest paying.

Are there any good, well paying career prospect for Molecular Biology?

• I'm in my final year of school and I have a great interest in both chemistry and biology, especially including DNA etc. So I had decided for several months that Molecular Biology would be an optimal course to study in university next year. I hope to be a professor and a lecturer at a university, after receiving a phd, and also to be involved in research work. I think i would find it intellectually fulfilling. However there is not enough money involved. After 12 years of schooling and 6 years at uni, not to mention the massive amount of money spent, i would of course want a higher paying job. So if there anything I can do to receive a greater pay? For example, would working for government institutions or the private sector effect pay? Is there other courses that are similar but would have greater career prospects? Any advice is welcome, thanks.

If university work does not pan out for you, there are a number of drug manufacturing concerns, such as Bristol Myers here in Syracuse, NY, that also are heavily into such research.
