What is a working schedule like for Walmart?

Working at publix vs. walmart?

  • I no longer work at Walmart so I'm kinda gonna miss their benefits. I might be working for Publix though soon. I put in an application, then they interviewed me and called me to come get a drug test and I always pass those. What are the chances they're gonna hire me? From my understanding, I'll get the job if I pass the test, but how long does it take to come back? I took the test yesterday and they said Fed-ex gets it to ship it off. What are some similar benefits Publix has to Walmart? People say Publix is a better place to work, but how is it better then Walmart and is it true that they pay every week instead of by weekly and do they offer resources for living or anything similar. How do you check your work schedule when you get hired. Do they have a smart system where you can check it online or on their computers? Do they have computer lessons in training? they say training takes 2 days how does that work?

  • Answer:

The fact that you were drug tested indicates they plan to hire you, should you pass. After hired you will be sent to orientation (paid), then scheduled for work. You will get paid by electronic deposit every week. The computer system is called Oasis, and you can check your schedule, request days off, print out your paycheck stub from a computer in the store or from your home computer. Most likely you will receive computer training at the store after you get hired.
