What is the best career out there?

What career path would best suit me?

  • Lately I have been debating and wondering about what careers would best suit me due to the fact that college isn't that far away. However, due to high expectations from family, I have had too many career options shoved down my throat at once as well as some denied as soon as they come up, and I can no longer make a proper decision. I hope that this will clear my mind a bit and shed some light onto the problem at hand. My mother wants me to go into something in the medical field while my father would like me to go into something dealing with business and numbers. While I am good with biology and enjoy psychology, lately my math skills have been below parr although I am in an accelerated math program. I have always wanted a career dealing with my good writing skills and creativity with the arts, but know that this isn't the best choice if I wish to make money. I harbor a deep love for philosophy and history but also know that these two options will also not be best cash wise. I like to work independently but don't enjoy debating, persuading, and conversing with people too much as I am a bit shy, though I don't mind teaching and leading. Playing my instruments, writing novels, and creating art are passions of mine so I would like something that will allow me to have at least a little freetime to indulge in these interests. I am in my school's accelerated program at school and have been getting straight A's (though my math grade has been suffering) as well as being invovled in some community service clubs, music, dance, art, and writing. If you can come up with a solution that builds a compromise between what I want and what my parents want that has a decent pay, it would be most appreiciated. If you wouldn't mind, I would also like some information on the community college to UC system transfer guarantee that I have heard about as well.Thank you so much for reading!

  • Answer:

Well, i am not sure if this will be too much help or not, but i would suggest doing what you love regardless of what your parents want or what the pay is. Though, if you don't like that suggestion you could always just waste away in a boring job, hating every day you have to wake up and do something that makes you feel like your life is a complete waste of time. Either way, whatever works for you, i guess. Good Luck!
