Anything that would show up on your criminal history after the age of 18, but not minor traffic violations is average. Federal agencies and higer level companies might do more. If there was no ruling or it was overturned, it will also state that.

Someone already said this, but it really depends on how deep the company wants to get. It is usually convictions, I wouldn't think speeding tickets or stuff like that would show up as long as they were taken care of. A lot of places dig pretty deep now days. And if it is anything financial you can pretty much count on a credit check too! Also something companies are doing is checking out peoples face-book and myspace pages. Of course this is usually unbeknownst to the aplicant!!
