What are good some paying entry level jobs that accept a HS deploma/GED?
-
im starting college this september and i need to know what entry level jobs out there accept a ged because I have to work to cover college and living on my own. my parents are selling the house by the end of the summer so its not as if i can stay with my parents and go to school so i need at least an ok paying job right off the bat. i did a search on no degree jobs, but most of them require going to a trade school or becomming an inturn and working for free for a year or 2, and the thing is i dont have time to do that. i just need a job that would be able to cover living and going to school(community college) thats alot and i hope i was specific enough. ~sonny~

Answer:
Take any full-time (35+ hours/wk) job you can find. You will not be able to survive on any less hours than 35. Minimum wage is pretty much all you are looking at. Instead of getting an apartment, find a room to rent in someone's house. This will be easy to find in a college town. It is a lot cheaper, you don't have to worry about utilities or upkeep, and you don't need to sign a lease. My friend rents a room in an elderly couple's house for $200 a month. She buys her own groceries and makes her own food (using their kitchen, of course) but it is her own room, and she and her "landlords" pretty much just leave each other alone. Most people who rent out a room in their house are just desperate for the extra income, so you pretty much just need to tell them that you are a student, you don't smoke (or ask if you can smoke outside), don't drink. . .and you are a good canidate. Find a job as soon as possible though, so your prospective landlords will have some proof that you can actually pay the rent!
