What is the best IT career for me?

What career best suits my interests?

  • Hi, I'm a freshman at Golden West College in CA, and I need some help with a career choice. Ideally, I'd be in a situation where I'm constantly learning, theorizing, wondering "What if..." I'm not much for practical work, so a managerial position wouldn't suit me at all. I also don't want to work on large projects-- I need results, or I'll quickly become bored. I'm not into math or the sciences, but I love the idea of research: theorizing how an ancient civilization lived or what gods they worshiped, writing about the effect of a writer on his culture, analyzing a speech, interpreting a law. I don't know how to become involved with a career of this type, or even what that career is. Any suggestions for a career, or a website that can give me more information, would be appreciated.

Sounds like you would do well majoring in either History, Political Science, Communications, or International Studies.
