How long until they call u back after a best buy interview?

Should I call back to follow up on my interview?

  • I had an interview at Best Buy a little more than two weeks ago, and I was told that I would be contacted in about 5 days after the interview to tell me whether or not I got the job. I've called twice between the interview and now, and I haven't gotten a chance to talk to the person who interviewed me, but instead I talked to the supervisor who said that she is still waiting on an email. I'm guessing an email for background checks or whatever, but I'm not really sure. I'm really interested in this job and don't want to get passed up by somebody else. Should I just wait until I get a response or call back today and see if I can get in touch with her again? I don't want to seem annoying, but at the same time, I think that it shows dedication towards wanting the job.

  • Answer:

It sounds like you haven't gotten the job. I interviewed with Best Buy a couple years ago and they told me I'd only hear from them if I was selected. Usually, employers are quick with people they want to hire and slow with people they aren't going to hire. Background checks do not take this long, either. Either way, contacting them is not really going to make a positive difference, especially if they've already decided what they want to do.
