Whats the chances of me getting a good job or a job in a good profession?

  • My grades are: English gcse - c Maths gcse - c Science gcse - c Business Studies gcse - c Ict gcse - pass Carpentry NVQ - distinction Construction NVQ - credit Business Studies as level - c Ict a level - a Media studies a level - c/d What can i do with these grades? Have i got a chance of being in a goodish job? When should i start writing for firms to see about apprenticeships? I finish school in May, I'll be 18.

  • Answer:

The grades are fine, and will be helpful. What you must also do is set yourself apart from others. Do other useful things that will give you a chance to learn some skills. That will be really helpful when it comes to looking for a job. You could consider some voluntary work in your spare time. Check here to find some - http://www.do-it.org.uk/

I would see about looking now for an apprenticeship in your area as there may be a waiting list. Grades don't mean too much. Determination and willpower - you can be whatever you want to be if you stick at it. Good luck x

See it as

If you've got qualifications they will ask for experience, if you've got experience they want qualifications. Good luck, I hope you find a job that suits you.
