I been looking for job for a week so far filling out applications from what i hear the best way is to talk to the manager but im not sure if its true or what should i say. Whats the best way to do it?

I'm in the same position except i've been looking for a job for about 2 months. I feel that speaking to them is helpful because it shows you want the job & can approach people without a problem. If it wasn't for me speaking to them i don't think they would have gave me interviews. My advice would be, be persistant, keep reminding them, and keep applying.
