I have an interview for bt/manpower tomorrow and I really need help with these interview questions please! (uk?

• Okay I know this sounds really lazy but I've not got any answers for these questions or none that I can think of and I've been out of a job for 5 months now and really need this job! Someone I know works there and told me they wil ask these questions. Even if they are made up answers I don't mind I just need help! :-( Mt work experience is the cooperative for 2yrs, and a call centre for 1 month. It's a competency based interview so I need specific instances/customers etc.. That's why I'm finding it difficult and the interview is tomorrow so I'm panicking! Here goes.. they ask about a time when you've had to work under pressure; how you coped and what you did to resolve the issue. they ask about a situation where you have had to use your initiative; they ask about a time when youve had targets to work to; how you felt when you've not met them and what you did to help you reach them; they ask about a time when you've gone beyond the normal expected from you to ensure customer satisfaction; what the issue was and what you did to ensure the customer was happy And anything else you think they may ask would be great, thanks! xx

  Hi Jean, First of all, you're going to do great in your interview because the only one who can answer these questions the best is you! So know that you are coming into this interview as a person who can fill this company's needs and help add to their bottom line. In regards to your questions, here are some possible ideas: Q. Explain a situation where you have been under pressure and how you did you handle it? A. Select a time in your work life where you have had a deadline that was coming up quickly and you had to make choices as to whether to give the extra effort or be late with the deadline. Explain to your interviewer that you analyzed the situation and worked with your team to come up with a plan where everyone pitched in and sacrificed a little to get the job done on time. (This shows your ability to think on your feet as well as work with others.) Q. Give us a situation where you had to use your initiative? A. Select a time in your work history where you saw something that could be improved in the process that would save time and money. You may have devised a plan and discussed it with your management on how to implement the improvement. Q. Explain a time when you have not met your targets or goals and how you felt? A. I would recommend that you be honest and tell them of a certain situation where you may not have met a goal even though you put in a great effort. Let them know it motivated you to reassess the situation and discover how to manage your time better to achieve the goal the next time. Q. Discuss a time when you have gone above your customer's expectations and how you did it? A. Pick a time when you have helped a customer solve a problem. Add to the discussion by explaining that once the problem was solved you asked if you could follow up with that customer to make sure that everything was fine down the road. Let your interviewer know how pleased the customer was to have an actual person who cared about their situation. Regarding other questions, there are the standard interview questions about what you strengths and weaknesses are and how you view yourself as an employee. Just answer them honestly and remember that this company is looking for the same qualities that most companies look for with a new employee including being a team player, working hard, willing to learn new procedures and a sense of humor.
