How to get a job right when you turn 16 at Best Buy?

  • So im going to be turning 16 on august 10th and ive been wanting to get a job at Best Buy for a couple years. Im desperate for a job there! I know electronics like the back of my hand and i think id be really good at working there. my question is how do i impress the interviewer? How do i even make sure i get an interview? Im super confused on what i should say to them. Im an incredibly akward and shy person but i want them to remember me. My biggest fear is that they'll write me off as an immature 16 year old and give the job to some 30 year old that just lost there job. Any Suggestions?

    Just start by filling out an application. You might be able to use this one: https://www.esnapw.com/rses/ESnapServlet?MerchantNumberSent=08881 It's also good to send in a resume (via e-mail or fax) before turning in an application just so that they have some extra information about you. Make sure you include how knowledgeable you are about electronics- they won't think of you as an immature 16 year old if they know what an asset you'll be to there team. Also, if you can, it's good to see if the Best Buy you want to apply at is currently hiring. Good luck :)

i wouldnt put your hopes up i am afraid, its really hard to get a job at the mo, so getting a job right at 16 dot on is SILLY, have you done a paper round? if no do one, i no its a little un cool to do this when you leaving school but if you cant get anything else, do it, it builds your work history and so you have more chance of a nice job. Also stores dont have unlimited JOBS, and unlimited staff you no, you will need to wait for a member of staff to leave etc, which once again add to the above comment, no one is leaving jobs at mo as they cant risk it. they just put up with it.

i kno!! buy you have to wait till close to christmas um they always need employees around that time so ask them when they are hiring around christmas first and they usually have a big job fair where they hire roughly 75 people just go to that and just tell them about yourself and you likes and dislikes
