What is a good summer job?

What is a good job where I can work 40 hours a week in the summer and 30 hours during the school year?

  • I'm 16 going on 17 (haha, Sound of Music reference)and this summer I need to get a job. I was thinking about working at Giant but it doesn't really matter as long as I can work 40 hours a week in the summer and 30 hours a week during school. 30 hours a week may sound like quite a bit but I'm going to be leaving school early everyday as a part of my school's work program so I'll still be able to manage school and work and I only have 5 classes next year and most of them are electives I don't need and I may get one dropped from my schedule, but anyway, the reason I want to work 40 hours a week is because once I get a job I wanna save up for a better guitar and I can get it in 2 months if I can work 40 hrs a week for the summer. I'll be making at least 7.25/hour so what are some good jobs I can get. I live in Baltimore, MD

I don't know many places that you can being under 18, but I know sears hires under 18 as cashiers. As far as hours being in school most retail places will work around school but because your only going to be able to be hired as a part time worker your likely to only get around 20 during school & 30 over the summer or 30 hours a week constantly. Their not likely to give you more than 32 hours because technically that means your full time, and places don't like to hire full time students.
