Can HR contact you after?

Should I contact HR about a job I applied for ?

  • I applied for a job and was notified by HR that I moved on to the next step -- my resume (etc) sent on to the hiring managers. It was a direct email with the HR Specialist...we've emailed back and forth a bit so that they had all my correct documents for the job. Here's the deal...HR has a system of scoring apps and then putting those with a high enough sore on an eligibility list that expires in June. Then they chose from that list to select candidates. I scored 95 (not sure exactly what that means because the company doesn't put any info anywhere about what the scores mean. I am assuming it's out of 100.) Previously, I applied for another job where I got a 77 and was put on the eligible list, and they never contacted me again. I am extremely qualified for this newer job. It's been a week and a half since I got my score and told I moved onto the eligible list. I want to contact HR to ask when they might be setting up interviews. Since I was on the eligible list before with no further contact I wanted to do this to show them that I am extremely interested in the job. But I don't want to come across as a bother...I just don't want to get passed by since I am not sure how their system works. Anyone have any advice on this. What would you do? Thanks!!!!

  • Answer:

If the job doesn't expire until June you are pushing it a bit. Wait.
