How do I address this letter?

How do you format a cover letter when you don't have an address for the company/organization?

• A standard business letter has your contact information, the company/organization's contact information, and then the letter content itself. What do you do if you don't have the company/organization's contact information? I am applying to a job at a university. The job is split between two different departments with different addresses. Do I put both addresses on the letter? Should I just write the name of the university, department names, city and state of the University and skip the street addresses entirely? What is best? XYZ University Office of Admissions and Department of ABC City, State or XYZ University Office of Admissions Address of Admissions City, State, zip Department of ABC Address of Department of ABC City, State Zip or XYZ University Office of Admissions Address of Admissions Department of ABC Address of Department of ABC City, State, Zip Any of those? Something else entirely?

  Ring the university.Large organizations will almost always have a contact point where you can get information..Never ever skip the street address.A complete and detailed address is the best option. If you two different addresses then best send two separate letters but I would recommend you contact the university by phone first.
