What does Sales experience mean?

I want to be a manager or supervisor but have no prior experience. How do i go about obtaining this position!?

• Ok, so im 20 im a sophmore at a Community college. Going for business administration. I have previous retail experience. I worked at Kroger, Wal-mart, Target, Shnucks, Papa johns, now RGIS Inventory Specialists. I Was either a sales associate, cashier or bagger at these places. I started papa johns when i was 16. Currently working at RGIS I do inventory at pretty much all the major retail stores and all the ones i worked at! Anyways..I want to be a manager! I like telling people what to do and i like being in control..I reallly want to be a manager or supervisor so0o bad! I was wondering like could i be qualified to be a entry level manager or supervisor???I really want to..I was also wondering are there like any other skills or certifications that i can get that can make it MUCH easier to getting a management position than having the experience. Other than getting my actual degree....I mean you have to get experience somewere!

  Usually it's easiest to work your way up in the company. You already know the way things work and (hopefully) have proven your dedication & responsibility. Let your store/district manager know that you'd like to be considered for a more advanced position, and work hard to prove that you can handle it. Usually for lower-level management no degree is really necessary - it's experience and being able to prove you can handle the responsibility. But if you're only working part time or have limited availability because of school it may be hard to get a more advanced position (aside from a shift supervisor or something of that kind) because at least in many companies even assistant manager positions are full-time.
