You just have to keep trying. The more places you try, the better your chances. Also, check the Want Ads in the newspaper, talk to friends to see if they've heard of any openings. Have your parents ask their friends. It also helps to do volunteer work. It looks good on your resume for college or to try to get a job. Sometimes volunteer work can lead to jobs also, because there may be a paid job available, or you'll meet people who can hire you. Start with anything you can. It doesn't matter how small. Good Luck.

You should've done volunteer work. That's experience. So is pretty much every extra curricular activity you do, that all can be put on a resume. And you can't be picky, even McDonalds counts as work experience and they don't require much application wise. Your going into college or university, your going to need money, the better jobs you'll need experience, but even a dishwasher at a resteraunt or a cleaner for any store will help you in the future/

I agree with the responder who said to look at every activity you've ever done and try to find a job using any of those skills or personality assets. Maybe one of your local merchants would be willing to give you a shot, even if it's just sweeping floor or other janitorial work. You will likely have to do menial jobs to gain some experience and good references for better jobs. Hopefully, your parents will allow you to live with them while you're working - as long as you're working - so that you can save up some money to find a place of your own or a share situation, or for you to decide if you want to get some continuing education credits and/or a degree. You might also look to see who's in business for themselves that could maybe use some help at a lower rate than they might otherwise have to pay someone, in order for you to get some experience. A positive, eager attitude and a strong work ethic will be especially important for you to catch your break. Good luck.

Try to seduce the boss.

Find a job that requires no experience and learn to capitalize.

70 percent of jobs are not advertised. One thing you need to do is what's called "networking" Tell everyone you know that you are looking for a job. Ask them to tell other people. Also, take some career testing, to show where your interests and skills are. Volunteer work is a good idea, because it puts you in touch with people who may know about jobs; you can put it on a resume because it looks good (you committed to a project, you showed up ontime and consistently, and it helped others) I just went to an interview and they were very impressed with my volunteering - the manager also did a lot of volunteer work. Some things you could volunteer at that would help you add experience would include working in a thrift store (to get retail experience), receptionist at a volunteer agency, data entry for an agency that needs it, etc. Make sure you have great computer skills, and keep learning more. I joined an employment support ministry at a church, and they were more helpful than any government program that I've ever been part of. I'd go ahead and work at fast food/in a restaurant for now. That was my first job, actually. You may also want to contact kennels in your area; often they need extra help during the holidays. Jobs that don't take a lot of training (less than 3 months, and you may get financial aid) include a forkleft operator or certified nursing assistant. Contact your local technical or community college about those. Good luck, and remember, keep telling EVERYBODY that you are job hunting.

It's the age old question, you need a job, but the employer wants experience, sometimes doing the job for free, will give you that experience to apply again for pay this time
