Answer:
bullsh*t something where you can relate your education to the work ur applying for. In the end, college teaches you the same thing in my opinion. I have an architecture degree but I worked for a financial company. All I said was I felt i could contribute to the expansion and sustainability of the company in a global era because my degree focused so much on thinking outside of the box, creativity, and always having the "people" in mind to design optimal condition housings, i think similar concepts can be applied to finances as well to meet the needs of the people and provide a sustainable plan for their future....something like that, no degree is useless u can always relate to any job....its never good to say "i couldnt find a job in accounting" or any negativity in ur interview, always say things in a positive manner, just rewording the phrase has a whole different impression even if it says the same thing

If you want to work in accounting then go get some exerience in it. You could find some non-profit organizations in your area that need accounting help. That will give you experience and build up your confidence.
a good answer is either i thought id be better at this 2) i think i have more talent and look forward to working along side this company 3) well i need a job i feel i can do and stay with and this seems like something im more qualifid for
I think I'd say something along the lines of "Initially I got into this area of work because I couldn't find a job in accounting, but now that I am doing this kind of work I find I enjoy it and have a flair for it". Then I'd quote some examples of good ideas and things I have done. It's up to you to come up with those.
May be u can say them that you are passionate about this job also u can share your liking and interest of your present.
first of all you have experience in accounting.. your college degree counts as expeience, Businesses know that right out of school you won't have much experience, but they take into account your college training and base hiring on it.. if they didn't count college experience, then no one would be hired right out of college.. secondly, just let them know that accounting and business is the perfect degree for an admin position due to the fact that all of the administrators must be mindful of how their position affects the overall budget and that business and accounting degrees have a lot of business administration skills in it's prerequisites and that you learned more than just your degree's skills in college taking all of the prerequisites. Say something about how you were in the process of going into accounting, but when a job opportunity for admin at the other college came up you were excited to try it and see what you could learn from a job outside of you degree. You liked it so much that when this job came up with (better pay/benefits, or more prestige, or was closer) that you jumped at the opportunity to come and work for them. make it sound like you chose them for a reason and not because you didn't want to find an accounting job.. just don't tell them that you couldn't find an accounting job or weren't applying. overall have fun, they might not even ask you that question. take it 1 question at a time and build up your skills and interest in the position and what you did at the prior school and it will go well..
im pretty sure universities have an accounting department so say something that has to do with wanting to advancing into that department or...... lie and say that you applied for accounting then walk out like that the job is beneath you and are insulted that they think you would actually consider a job like that :)
Tell them its because their building has polished floors and you would enjoy sliding along them in your socks.
What an odd attitude. If you "haven`t applied for many because I am not confident that I will be ever chosen", what was the point in spending time and money on getting the degree. You will certainly be asked why, and it is nothing unusual for "over qualified" applicants to be rejected simply because the interviewer cannot believe that you are a genuine person wishing to do a lesser job (some "over qualified" applicants actually have something to hide)
