What is the best way to become a lawyer?

  • I'm planning to study law, I'm in high school now, but idk the best way to take. Many people suggest me that is much better if I take something other than law for undergraduate (politic, business). And then take law after undergraduate. Is this true? What are the benefits? Some people say that study another subject get give u an edge later for interviews. But what if I don't plan to work for a law firm but work self-employed? Would it still be a good idea to spend 4 years on something other than law? Thanks!!!

  • Answer:

In the US, there is no such thing as undergraduate law studies. You need to major in something else. The only thing that comes close to undergraduate law is a program at American University called Law and Society, which is under the school of Public Affairs. Check out the wikipedia entry for pre-law.
