How do you get pay per view to work?

Should a company pay employees for being away from work training?

  • Hello I'm very confused about my rights relating to my employer. I am in Victoria and work on a full time casual basis for a major environmental services company with a view to going full-time after probation. I have been asked to achieve tickets and a truck license as part of my job. I have been told to pay for them out of overtime which is withheld from my wage, not been issued with a tax receipt for the withholding and didn't get paid for the days I was not working to be away training. Can they do this? As it stands I'm therefore out of pocket for the tickets and license, three days I couldn't go to work because I was away doing training they told me to and can't claim any of it on tax because they won't give me a receipt (which had been suggested they won't issue because they want to claim it on their tax). I'd appreciate answers from people who know about the subject matter, whether it's right or wrong with references in other words that I can use to back my approach to management. Opinions please are not really useful in this case. Thank you Steven

  • Answer:

http://www.aph.gov.au/library/intguide/law/industriallaw.htm you posted this under Australia, so have posted your department of labor site for reference. You might want to call them and pose these questions. Also, might suggest you post your question under personal finance/taxes and could get other posters who could state if legal or owed. good luck
