Can I get a job in law enforcement?

Im a senior in highschool and next year I want to go to school for law enforcement, however, I currently have a 5th degree assault charge that'll be dismissed in December, and ive recently been charged with posession of a small amt of marijuana, it wasn't mine the owners of it blamed me but I'd like to know if whether I get charged or don't get charged if it could effect my chances of getting into it either way? Please help! Thank you!
