  • Answer:

To become ANY lawyer, will require you to complete 4 years of college and a bachelors degree. Then you will need 3 years of law school, pass the bar exam in the state where you live, so that you will be legally licensed to practice law. Even though you want to pursue corporate law, at this time the law field is completely saturated and many lawyers with degrees from the BEST schools out there, are unemployed years after passing the bar. These same lawyers have anywhere from $150,000 to $250,000 dollars in debt of student loans that MUST be paid. Maybe in 10 to 12 years, it "might" change, but your best bet is to look into other fields of education that may get you a job after graduation vs law. good luck

You start learning now by subscribing to magazines written for Corporate Lawyers or you read them in the library or you make friends with the county or local bar association librarian and read them there while you finish high school with a 3.8 or better GPA. Then you get a BS in Business or Accounting from the best school you can afford and again do better than the rest. Meanwhile you are researching the biggest and best Law Firms whose specialty is Corporate Law in what ever area of the country you want to practice in and taking note of where the partners graduated law school from. Those are the law schools you want to apply to. You will also apply to those firms for internships, legal messenger jobs, temp work in archival filing (that is when they purge out inactive files and put them into storage. It is exacting work and dirty with a lot of lifting). You will graduate law school near the top of your class and if you have laid sufficient ground work while in school you will practically fall into a job, the lowest ranking green horn in the firm but a job with potential none the less. you have about 10 years of hard work and planning ahead so good luck.
