What's the hardest part of nursing school?

Is it possible to maintain a part time job during nursing school?

  • My fiance and I are really wanting to get married soon; however, I will be starting a two year nursing program in the fall of this year. I am a full time student and my fiance is a part time student with a part time job. I have a part time job right now where I work at minimum two days out of the month (12 hour shifts) making minimum wage. I would definately have to get another part time job for us to be able to get married. Is it possible to keep a part time job during nursing school?

  • Answer:

It can be done, but it is EXTREMELY difficult! My sister is an RN and worked PT while putting herself through school. There is more reading than you even have a clue about until you get into that program. Her daughter, my niece, became an RN not long after my sister did and found out exactly what I'm talking about! It is extremely intensive and if your work is not flexible, forget it. If you want to get married, do so, just don't plan on a big wedding until after you graduate. Then you can be married, go to school and have a "renewal" of your vows in a couple years! Good luck!
