Is it easy to find a job as a lawyer after law school?

Job opportunities for an egyptian lawyer?

  • well my friend is egyptian and is in his last year of law school on egypt he wants to move to america, but he wants to drop out of school because he says his degree wont help him to get a job here in america, he doesnt want to be a lawyer here. But im trying to encourage him to finish and i was thinking that may be he could find a job here with his degree not as a lawyer of course but i dont know may be as a college professor maybe? Does anyone know what he could work as with that type of degree?? U know nothing fancy just something to start and I think maybe he can attend college here and get a different degree...thoughts? suggestions? please try not to be mean and say as a janitor or flipping burgers or things like that (theres nothing wrong with those jobs but some people are just being sarcastic)

  • Answer:

Does he have the legal right to work in the US? If not, it doesn't matter what degree he has or does not have. He can't work anywhere - not flipping burgers, not as a law professor. If he can legally work in the US he might be able to use his law degree. The laws about foreign attorneys practicing in the US vary by state, but most states allow it after the foreign lawyer takes classes and sits for the bar exam. If he has some expertise in Islamic finance he might be able to find a job.
