What is the most common type of lawyer?

What Type of Lawyer Should I Look Into?

  • Hello Yahoo Community, My name is Alex. I am in 8th grade and now only 9 months away from High School. I have been really thinking about my future for a long time but now I am starting to get serious. I would really like to be a lawyer, I love law and other aspects of it. I am pretty sure I will stick to it so please don't respond saying I may change my mind, I am absolutely aware of this. My question is though, what type of lawyer suits me. I have included some information below. Hope I get at least a few answers! What studies do I enjoy most: I enjoy all studies in school. From top to least it would probably go as followed: 1. History, 2. Math, 3. English Language (Not identifying parts of the language ex. predicate, etc.), 4. Science. What am I looking for: I love to present but it would cause me loads of stress to go up in front of a jury. I am a perfectionist and it just wouldn't work. I would much rather present a case at a table/conference or just completely not do "trials." I LOVE politics. I also LOVE business study. Thus, I do not want to be working with discrimination lawyers or with gay or lesbian disputes. My Conservative side would really burst out. :) I also don't want to do any family practices like abortion and/or divorce. Again, my Conservative side would spit out too much and I try to stay open eared. If anyone needs any more information just tell me! I will add whatever you need, I'll be waiting here for the next hour or soon. God bless you all! -Alex

  • Answer:

u dislike trials/juries, & all barristers do trials, so should be a solicitor. u dislike gay/abortion/divorce issues, so don't be a human rights, employment, equal opportunity, divorce or family lawyer. u love business/politics, so be a corporations lawyer (u can work in-house for banks/companies or at a firm specialising in corporations law), or a govt agency lawyer for a conservative govt (eg CIA, parliament etc). u love presenting at conferences, so u should work only at medium-big firms, & only be an in-house lawyer if there's lots of other lawyers to work with
