I have been to Modesto many times and I know how rural it is out there. (I love it too by the way). I can understand you not wanting give out personal info but if you are going to look for work then sooner or later you are going to have to budge sometime. If you want a reputable site then then try Career Builder. They are nationwide and not a fly by night scam system. Manta is good too, though it's not a job site, it's more like a directory that will give a list of all the businesses in your area that you can apply for. Since you don't have any work experience then you may want to address that right off the bat and get it out of the way when you introduce yourself to a prospective employer. I would emphasize on honestly, hard work, and character references from teachers or people your parents do business with. Be honest with them and sincere and that will go a long way. You'll get a lot of "no's" for various reasons so make sure you don't take it personal. Get their card and call on them in the future (maybe 3 mos, 6 mos, 9 mos later etc.) and eventually you'll find something. Have fun in your future job search. I'm sure you'll find something sooner or later. Ah don't forget the employment development department too. Try not to be too picky. Jobs are not always easy to find, especially in the San Joaquin Valley. Take what you can get and learn some valuable lessons from them.
