How do I get a job in software sales?

Do you think it is harder to get a sales job or a job as a waiter, bartender or cook?

  • I am in sales and my husband is a cook. He has been looking for a job in one of the above fields. he said it is much harder for him to get a job than me since getting a sales job is easy. If you are in one of the mention industries give me a little feedback please, I think he is nuts.

    Part of it has to do with what skills you have. I don't believe it has anything to do with how easy to job is though. There are jobs that are very easy to do but hard to get because there is so much competition for them.

i have been in both fields and i have to say that i can teach any monkey how to sell something they know about like car parts or computers, it just takes a basic knowledge and understanding and then i can make a saleperson. but a cook is somone who needs to have a technical understanding and ability of how to cook pretty much anything thrown at them. food service is generally high turnover so more jobs are available, but that is also usually front of house, as back of house staff such as cooks typically plant themselves in a favprable kitchen and dont ever move
