How can I get a line cook job at Olive Garden?

How do you get a job as a manager without having prior experience?

• I recently graduated from college, and still looking for a job. Ive worked in the restaurant business before, but just as a line cook. Ive been looking into working as a restaurant manager, but have never had experience as one. How can places limit themselves to ONLY hiring people with management experience? can they not train ppl? I mean, how do you get that experience without actually having been one?..its a catch 22 lol. Id like to have that sort of job, but as a recent college grad, i dont think i should have to start out as a bus boy just so i can get a management job 5 years from now

  If your education included business management courses that would be a good argument to be hired for the position but I would think you would at least have to start out as an assistant manager to learn the job requirements. Your experience in the business though should help you at least get an interview and then you will have to sell yourself. Good luck!
