Want to Get into the Medical Field Phlebotomy Technician?

• I live in Phoenix Az I'm looking for some advice on getting started in the medical field. I know I want to work in the hospital, but now I'm trying to figure out exactly what field. I like being around people and helping people, so I was thinking about maybe Phlebotomy but sometimes I have doubts about that field. I start thinking. can I actually do that? Will it be too hard for me? Basically, I was trying to see if there were any Phlebotomy Technicians out there in Az who could give me some advice?

  Some companies prefer phlebotomists (draws the blood) to have certification, too. The job doesn't come without risks such as contracting diseases, for example, HIV (human immunodeficiency syndrome) which is the virus that causes AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) and hepatitis (albeit there is a vaccine for some forms of hepatitis) and such. Please be aware that similar fields of medical assistant and medical biller or coder are NOT supposed to have too many jobs these days. I'm not sure about phlebotomy alone, but one would most likely learn during a clinical (as opposed to "office") medical assistant program, too.
