Jobs in the medical field that don't require a ton of math and science?

  • My boyfriend is about to start college in his 20's after a bunch of setbacks he had. He is unsure as to what he wants to study, and I was hoping some of you might be able to help. His whole life, he's had many medical problems and is therefore obsessed with health and medicine. He does not want to do anything "medical" but wants to be in the medical field. Someone suggested pharmacology, but he isn't sure that he's up for all the chemistry he must learn. Are there any other professions in the medical field, where the medical part is limited? For instance, I know an ultra sound technician must only take a few medical courses in school, and is then trained on the skill, so it's not a ton of difficult classes, and is not dealing with much blood, shots, surgery, etc. Thanks!

  • Answer:

The medical field is about medicine and patient care. There are technician jobs such as in the X-Ray lab or even in the pharmacy. But understand that the focal point is on learning technical terminology and there is no escape in the whole puzzle if you want a piece of it. Why not go to the local college and get the vocational counselor to manage a vocational assessment. This will help alot.
