How do i become a rn nurse?

  • I am a high school senior and wanting to become a rn nurse. But I don't know what college I am applying to. What I mean is what am i suppose to do to become a rn? I applied to a state college and it says prenursing is this the faster way or right path? I don't know what i am doing please help? I though nursing only takes 4 years. What schools should i apply to in california to be a rn nurse and what am i suppose to do? Can someone please explain step by step. My gpa is 3.75. I also want to save some money because one one of my parents are working. hELP?

    I would do m 60 hours of prereqs at a community college, then apply to a nursing school for a BSN program. That is what I did. Look at these site for the nursing schools you wish to attend and they will clearly list the prereqs and the requirements for admission.

Talk to your guidance counselor. They should be able to point you in the right direction. Also check with some local college guidance counselors about their programs and options. Today with the high demand for nursing there are many avenues to take education wise. Online studies, community colleges, technical schools, regular college / university, accelerated programs, etc. Find the one that fits you best and go for it. Study hard, graduate, get that Nursing Pin, pass the NCLEX and enjoy an awesome career!!

Ask for more information for nursing program from your local community college. But usually commnunity college have quite a long waiting list.
