Steps to becoming a nurse?

  • Hi! :) Okay, so I graduated from High School in June of 2011 & I haven't started school because of personal issues BUT I should be starting soon like in the Summer hopefully. I recently have become very interested in being a nurse, & I'm actually not too sure on what the steps to becoming a nurse are. There's many vocational schools around my area but a lot of people tell me that they're not a good option. I do have some convenient community colleges to choose from as well. Can any one give me any advice? What do you think? Or what are some good career choices for someone who loves to help out & loves to work with children & all kinds of people? :) Thanks! :D

    Nursing school. The link below shows you schools in your area. First you have to select a program, up on top, and next to it your location if the one that shows is not correct. You could also look into a teaching degree to work with children (I have a good friend who's a 2nd grade teacher and loves it). You could consider a degree in social services and become a social worker. You could get a degree in sociology, a degree in sociology can take you in many directions and all involve working with and helping people

community college will do.. see a counselor, work out an education plan.. basically u need a couple general ed classes but finish ur science prerequisite classes first!! and as soon as u finish them, apply for the nursing program at ur college, depending on how long the wait time is, then finish the rest of general ed classes while ur waiting, then once ur in the program, just stay focused, do u wht u gotta do and boom ur done :) once u have ur RN degree, u can then explore ur options... but gotta have RN degree first, then u can work while exploring other options, cuz when u go thru the actual program, u get to learn of all fields.. workin with preggers, kids, adults, surgeries, ER, etc.. so get the basic done first, then u can take ur time thinkin abt wht u wana do, cuz then u can actually GO in that direction rather than havin to wait to finish school.. :) hope this helps! btw.. GREAT CHOICE OF CAREER!! =D its sooo worth it
