How much does a RN or LVN make?

Are there any LVN to RN bridge programs or is an LVN not a viable path for an advanced career in Nursing?

  • I'm looking into becoming an LVN because the waitlists for RN programs are way too long. My goal though is to eventually become a Nurse Practitioner. If I start out as an LVN, are there any fully, nationally accredited LVN-to-RN bridge programs? (Idealy in California?) Or would I just have to start all over again as a basic non-nursing student to get to a BSN? (If there are an y particular LVN schools known for having a smooth/streamline path to fully accredited RN and beyond, they'd be perfect!)

  • Answer:

There are plenty of LVN-RN programs. If getting your BSN is your goal then why would you waste your time with an LVN program?Complete the prerequisites and then apply to a BSN program. You will save yourself time and money. After that you need several years of experience and then you can apply to an NP program.

There are a lot of mobility programs, at least in MN where I'm from. MN is known for their outstanding boards and success rates.
