What comes before a rn?

Is it good to get a bachelor's degree major is RN Nursing to get into a PA program?

  • Im thinking about what i should major in college before going into a pa program, but i don't know what major i should work towards. I've heard suggestions about majoring in biology or majoring in RN but I'm not sure which is better! I heard it doesn't really matter but does it look good when it comes time for PA schools to select people to study their program?

  • Answer:

If you are going to become an RN you should continue on to be an NP.

It's not really a good idea. For one, nursing programs are very difficult to get into. People who go into the programs really WANT to be nurses. To use it as a means to an end to get you into a completely different career field wouldn't really be practical, or fair to all those other people who actually want to use their degree to be a nurse. I agree with the first answer. If you're going to go into nursing, you might as well stay in the field and become a Nurse Practitioner. They have about the same level of education and function in a very similar capacity, make about the same amount of money, and it makes more sense.
